NORMAL SKIN

Normal skin refers to skin that is well-balanced. If you have normal skin, you are typically not too oily or too dry. You have zero or minimal pore visibility, good elasticity, and smooth texture. Those with normal skin do not usually experience sensitivity, tightness due to dryness, or frequent breakouts.

OILY SKIN

Oily skin is characterized by an overproduction of sebum, the natural oil produced by the skin's sebaceous glands, which can give the skin a shiny or greasy appearance. Those with oily skin are likely to have enlarged pores and are more prone to acne and breakouts due to the accumulation of oil and dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to inflammation. Salicylic acid, niacinamide, vitamin A, and hyaluronic acid are just a few ingredients recommended for those with oily or acne-prone skin.

COMBINATION SKIN

Combination skin is a mix of different skin types on various parts of the face, with the most common difference being between ones T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin) and cheeks. The T-zone on combination skin may appear oilier while the cheeks and other areas may be normal, sensitive, or dry. A targeted approach using different products based on the area/concern is an optimal choice for those with combination skin.

DRY SKIN

If you have dry skin, you often have a feeling of tightness or roughness on your skin. You are also likely to experience flakiness, itchiness, and irritation. Dry skin may be a lifelong concern due to genetics or it can be caused by environmental conditions, aging, or lifestyle choices. Those with dry skin should opt for gentle, hydrating products that help replenish moisture and strengthen the skin's barrier.

SENSITIVE SKIN

Those with sensitive skin experience heightened reactions due to external factors. Certain skincare products may cause redness, itching, stinging/burning, or tightness on sensitive skin that other skin types do not experience. Sensitive skin may be genetic or develop over time due to environmental stressors, aging, hormonal changes, or other underlying conditions such as eczema or rosacea. It is best to use gentle, hypoallergenic skincare products and avoid harsh chemicals and fragrances if you are prone to skin sensitivities.
